Head injuries are unfortunate; however, a common event that should be treated as soon as possible. There are various forms of head injury, some are acquired such as in a motor vehicle accident or sports-related, while others are organic such as with a stroke, tumor, or epilepsy.

Common Symptoms

Common symptoms of a head injury include but are not limited to persistent headaches, dizziness, blurry vision, changes in sleeping or eating pattern, changes in mood, and changes with attention, concentration, memory and or personality.

In general, each head injury is unique, regardless of how the head injury was obtained or on which constellation of symptoms a patient is experiencing, our team of professionals are equipped to efficiently and effectively assess and tailor a rehabilitation plan.

In customizing a rehabilitation plan, interventions include but are not limited to medication management, cognitive skills re-training, physiotherapy, vestibular and balance therapy, speech therapy, and or a comprehensive outpatient brain injury curriculum.

The patients generally admitted to our institution are at a functionally independent level and require minimal to moderate assistance with activities of daily living. For example, these patients can maintain gainful employment or are at a functional level where they are ready to return to gainful employment or pursue other meaningful activities such as continuing their education.

I would highly recommend coming to see Dr. Cruz for brain injury.  Dr. Cruz is very knowledgeable and his staff does an excellent job with all my concerns.
